Mauritius Conference – May 2010
04-07-10

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, oh God, You will not despise. People are tired of religion, tired of sitting in the back ground, tired of playing church – we want something real and living to possess our lives, something to live and die for. We want to not just serve our Lord and Savior, but to intimately know Him for who He is and what He has done for us, we want Him to be real to us and not just some far away, distant God in Heaven, but the God who lives right in our hearts. We all know on some level what playing church does for us and we have had enough… it kills us; it keeps us from the Fathers heart and it robs us from living the true life of Holiness that Christ has bought in His suffering for us on the Cross of Calvary. The conference in Mauritius was but a taste of this work that He is going to continue. Seven people from the Gaborone church were able to go to the conference .From the first meeting of the conference to the last their was a wonderful presence of the Lord that confronted lives and led to deep repentence. The repentence first started with the leadership who brought lives before the Lord and the people. Their humility and sincerity opened the way later when many people in the meetings came forward in large numbers to repent and put their lives right before God. What touched me most was the lack of structure and concern for keeping to the program of man. There was room and time for each person who and repented before their brothers and sisters, and never once were they stopped because the program had to commence. There was a sensitivity to the Spirit and what He wanted to accomplish, which led to a lingering in His presence resulting in meetings that went on for up to five hours or more, but this was hardly noticed, for we were exactly in the place we were created to be, in the glorious presence of our God and King. It is there where there is everything we will ever need and pleasures we will never experience apart from Him. I think what ministered and awed almost everyone was the children. Throughout the bible the Lord teaches that children are precious to Him and that He holds their natures in high regard, using them as examples for us to pattern our lives after. It is their simple, trusting and humble natures that the Lord values, with their tender childlike hearts. The Lord is doing a special work amongst these little ones; He is using them in His body and will continue to use them in more powerful ways in the days to come, to do His will and to be an example for us. These children were an example for me, the way the flocked to the front and so simply and whole heartedly worshiped the Lord .They were encouraged to come up on the stage and place was given to them to share their hearts and to be a part of what was going on, not to be made to sit still or to be kept in a room somewhere to be out of the way of the elder people. They too were before the Lord repenting and breaking their hearts. It must be such a privilege to be so, so young and be exposed to the Gospel and what is happening in these days. They are just as important to the body of Christ as is the older people and they are serving the Lord no matter how small, serving Him so simply, even if it’s just to hand out tissues, they were eager to play a part and serve Him with pure hearts. I could feel the Lord’s pleasure and pride in them.
